She was born in New Orleans, LA and spent some childhood summers on a ranch in Plaquemine Parish, LA where her and her siblings share the fondest of family memories. She spent most of her life in Jefferson Parish, LA later planting roots and remaining a long time resident of Harahan, LA.
She went to Our Lady of Lourdes and Dominican High School. She was a child of God, and she believed in the power of prayer.
She was a dreamer, a romantic, and a multidimensional person. Her favorite movies were Gone with the Wind and The Wizard of Oz and her favorite color was peach. She had the ultimate feminine energy about her, always wearing makeup and keeping up her signature feature - her long jet black hair. She was a talented artist, singer and songwriter and she was known for her handwriting which gave the appearance of calligraphy. She loved to play Checkers and Old Maids with her daughters when they were little girls and she spent years going to and hosting garage sales with her sister. She is described as having a heart as big as the Atlantic Ocean.
She is survived by her daughters Tammy Lopinto (fiancé Curtis Blank Jr.) and Carley Lopinto, sisters Alice Baroni and Bettye Lopinto Datusch, 5 nephews and 1 niece. She is preceded in death by her father Joseph Peter Lopinto Sr., mother Dorothy Lenoir Lopinto and her brothers Joey and Peter Lopinto.
