Ronald Joseph Melancon

Ronald Joseph Melancon, born July 18, 1953, passed away peacefully at the age of 69, on Mardi Gras day, February 21, 2023. He was born and raised in New Orleans, LA, and known to his family and friends as Ronnie. For the last year of his life, Ronnie lived in Ponchatoula, LA to be close to his sister. Ronnie owned a cab and drove for United Cab Company for 25 years, then later, worked for New Orleans Fairgrounds and Slots for many years as a bartender. He loved fishing, playing cards and spending time with his friends and family.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Joseph Melancon and Blanche Gondolf Melancon. He is survived by his sisters, Carolyn Melancon Strain and Marolyn Melancon. His sisters would like to thank the staff at Ponchatoula Community Care Center for their care and support. Ronnie will be buried at St. Louis Cemetery #3 at a later date.
