Obituary of Robin Guidry Franks

Robin Franks, 62, of LaPlace, Louisiana, passed from this life on the heels of her beloved husband and soulmate, Murray Franks, who preceded her in death just one week before — as though even death could not keep them apart for long.

Robin and Murray were married for 33 years and were perfectly matched in every way that mattered. They balanced each other out the way only true soulmates can — each one better for having the other. What they had was the kind of love people spend a lifetime looking for.

Born to Jon and the late Lorraine Guidry, Robin was the kind of woman people gravitated toward — not because she would tell you what you wanted to hear, but because she would tell you the truth. Every time. With love, and without apology. If you brought her your problems, you left with clarity. That was her gift. She was the person everyone trusted with everything — their rock, their sounding board, the one you called first and leaned on hardest.

A woman of quiet but unshakable faith, Robin believed deeply in God and Jesus Christ — not loudly or by the letter, but sincerely and in her own way, as she did most things.

In her professional life, Robin found her calling in real estate, ultimately building something she could truly call her own by founding First Source Realty. It was one of her proudest accomplishments — a testament to her sharp mind, her drive, and her refusal to do anything halfway. She was fierce and savvy, someone who had worked hard and never gave up.

Robin saw the best in the people around her and always pushed them to be even better. Serious by nature and steady by choice, she carried herself with a quiet confidence that commanded respect without ever demanding it. She always looked the part too — put together, polished, and blessed with a full head of thick, gorgeous blonde hair that remained every bit as remarkable through her battle with cancer as it had been her entire life. It was, like her, undeniable.

During her battle, she fought every single step of the way with the same determination and grit she brought to everything in her life. She was exceptional and defied her own odds for as long as she could. Not in the way that gets loud or seeks recognition, but in the way that is simply, quietly, unmistakably true.

She is survived by her father, Jon Guidry; her siblings, Ginger Guidry, Tiffany Guidry, and Scott Guidry; her stepchildren, Christopher Franks, Tony Franks, Tracy Franks; her nieces, Tera Marks, Carley Ladner, Nicole Guidry, Abby Guidry, her nephew, Logan Guidry; and all who were lucky enough to love her and be loved by her in return.

Robin Franks did not just live. She fought. She led. She inspired. She told the truth. And she loved — deeply, fiercely, and completely.

May she rest in peace, reunited at last with the love of her life.
