Ray was born in New Orleans on June 26, 1958 to the late Francis R. Dufrene and Virgie Badeaux Dufrene, and was raised in Lafitte, LA. He moved to Marrero in 1985. Ray attended John Jay Beauty School and worked at Ray's Barber Shop in Marrero, LA before opening Results, in Marrero, where he was able to do what he loved, help people to look their best. He moved to New Orleans in 2000, and lived there until his death.
He is survived by his sister Deborah Dichiara (Terrance), niece Christy Sproles (Steve), nephew Raymond Mansfield (Debbie), great nieces Nora and Camille Sproles and Jeanne Mansfield, great nephew Henry Sproles, and his companion, best friend, and sweetest dog Olivia. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Peggy Mansfield and friend Ron Mossman.
We will always be grateful to his sponsor, Thad, and Ray's A.A. family. They helped him to get and stay sober, and those years were a great gift to his family. Ray will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Divine Providence Church, 8617 West Metairie Ave., Metairie, LA, 70003, on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 12:00 p.m., with visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ray’s memory to Project Lazarus, P. O. 3906, New Orleans, LA 70177. Arrangements entrusted to the Neptune Society of New Orleans.
