Philip Charles Pisciotta left this earth and went to his forever home on September 22, 2023. He was born on July 1, 1942, in New Orleans to the late Charles Henry Pisciotta and Rosalie Piazza Pisciotta. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Jan Moreci Pisciotta, his daughter, Erin Alphonso, his son-in-law, Craig Alphonso, his most wonderful grandson, Evan Alphonso, his brother, Charles Pisciotta (Nancy), and a host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Philip spent most of his life in the retail industry and opened Appliance World with his friend and partner, Howard Freedman. Later in life he transitioned to a career as a Louisiana Real Estate appraiser. Philip and Jan loved to travel and through the years traveled across Europe, Israel, Hong Kong, Thailand, and throughout the United States. Among the places he visited, Las Vegas held a special place in his heart. He brought smiles and holiday cheer to countless children by portraying Santa Claus for two decades. Philip was very involved in his church parish, St. Philip Neri. He managed the Eucharistic Ministry Program, he was the Director of the parish variety show for many years, and completed many other duties that he was called upon to perform. Philip will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to shine through the lives he touched.
Visitation will be at St. Philip Neri Church, 6500 Kawanee Avenue, Metairie on Tuesday, October 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a mass immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Joseph Abbey in honor of Philip’s memory.
