Paul Thorleif Therkildsen, who passed away on February 6, 2019, was born November 26, 1928 to Tomas and Dagmar Fosby Therkildsen. He attended Bradley University from 1947 to 1951 and the University of Illinois Chicago from 1951 to 1953. He was in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1955-1960, then, continued his studies at the University of Colorado 1960-1961, the University Omaha 1961-1962, and was then a professor at the University of New Mexico from 1962-1990.
He was married to Joyce Vedeman from 1962-1980, and was a proud father of four children: Paul Tomas Therkildsen, Guy Scott Therkildsen, Grant Neils Therkildsen and Christy Starr (Therkildsen) Anderson.
He married Mary Ann Mayfield in July, 1976. She had 3 daughters: Mary (Becky) Pim, Jerri Mayfield, Lisa Norton.
