“Nee” first moved to Memphis, TN and eventually relocated to Louisiana where she remained until her death.
For many years, “Nee”, was a homemaker before entering the workforce at 51. “Nee” had an eclectic resume, but her favorite position was working as a caretaker for elderly patients. Caregiving gave her a sense of purpose and she often looked forward to going to work. When she was not working, “Nee” enjoyed looking at home décor, shopping at The Loft, and browsing any clothing store that carried petite sized clothing. She absolutely loved going to the annual jewelry show to peruse the latest styles. She also enjoyed going out to eat to enjoy her favorite foods: Dim Sum and Hawaiian Ribeye.
Many are surprised that “Nee” was a two-time survivor of Lymphoma. She was a warrior during chemotherapy and rarely complained that she was feeling ill. In fact, she found it very humorous that she gained weight during her first round of treatment since most lose weight. Even when she had lost all her hair as a result to her treatments, she proudly adorned various hats and wigs.
Orranee is survived by her two daughters, Orlena (Geoff), Davina (Rocky), and four grandchildren (Oliver, Malai, Hansa and Jett).
