Neil Thomas Mock

He was married to the former Anne Martin Goza for nineteen years and the beloved father of two daughters: Vivienne Frances Mock (8) and Marion Helen Mock (4). Neil is survived by his wife; daughters; mother-in-law Frances Martin Goza (Mrs. Hiram Jennings) of Covington, LA; brothers-in-law, H. Jennings Goza, IV, (Eleanor) of Atlanta, GA, and John-Carr Sparks Goza, (Hannah), of Santa Monica, CA; nieces, Daffin Marie Goza and Genevieve Lorraine Goza of Atlanta.

Neil was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Mock, and mother, Debra Sue Mock, both of Arkansas. His brother, Nolan, also preceded him in death.

Neil was a graduate of El Dorado (AR) High School, where he was an Eagle Scout; and The University of the South at Sewanee, TN, where he was president of his fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta (Fiji) and excelled at tennis. Upon graduation he was the recipient of the Sewanee Creative Writing Award. Neil worked as a Software Engineer and excelled in designing Cloud programs. He was named an employee of the year of AOL and honored in New York for his accomplishments. Neil and Anne were currently living in Covington, LA, but had called New Orleans, Nashville, and Atlanta home the previous 20 years. Neil traveled abroad with his wife, Anne and baby, Vivienne for a year across the globe covering England to New Zealand with a new country each month. Neil cared deeply for his friends near and far; loved travel, the outdoors, fishing, camping, tennis, golf, computers, research and was a voracious reader of classics. He adored his girls, Anne, Vivienne, and Marion and will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

Arrangements are being handled by the Neptune Society of New Orleans. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at The Henton Chapel on the campus of the Episcopal School of Acadiana, where Anne and Neil were married in 2005, 1557 Smede Hwy, Broussard, LA 70518 at. A reception will follow.
