

He was born in Milwaukee, WI on September 20, 1949, but his family returned to the Panama Canal Zone soon after he was born. He then moved to New Orleans, LA while he was still young, and remained in the greater New Orleans area for his formative years before moving to LaPlace, LA with his beloved wife, where they lived and raised their family together for over 44 years. He was the son of the late James Klaman and the late Joycelyn Lacy Klaman and was the beloved husband of Holly Bowers Klaman for over 50 wonderful years.
In addition to his wife, Holly, he was the loving father of two daughters, Amy Klaman and Tristan Klaman (Calvin Chenevert III) who blessed him with two beautiful grandchildren, Avery and Calvin IV. He is survived by a brother, Patrick Klaman (Karen “Casey” Klaman). He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth Klaman Carson. Michael is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
He was a devoted Christian and lived his faith by example and he was a beloved member of Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church. He was a lead facilitator of The Great Adventure Bible Studies for ten years. He was awarded the St. Louis Medallion from the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Michael graduated from East Jefferson High School in 1967, then went on to serve in the Navy during the Vietnam war. After his military service, he worked for the Federal Government for 35 years.
Michael loved shooting pool, studying the Bible, and loved being with his family. He will be greatly missed by all those he touched during his lifetime, especially his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday, July 6th, 2026 held at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, 1900 Greenwood Drive, Laplace, LA from 10:00am to 11:30am, followed by a Funeral Mass. Interment will be in the St. John Memorial Gardens Columbarium, 2205 W. Airline Highway, Laplace, LA immediately after the Mass for those wish to join.
