He is preceded in death by his parents, Medric Jean Barrilleaux, Sr. and Agnes Zeringue Barrilleaux along with his loving wife, Sylvia McCloskey Barrilleaux then later in life, Philomena Bienvenu. He leaves behind a large and loving family; Julie (Clayton), Rebecca (Scott), Christopher (Brandy) and Brianne (Gary), five granddaughters, four grandsons, two great-grandchildren along with five siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Medric loved and was loved, he laughed, he painted, he enjoyed countless hobbies throughout his life and he especially loved to dance. All those who knew and loved him will miss him. He had an amazing life; he “won at life.”
We would like to thank Brandy for the love and care she gave to our father. We are forever grateful for the selfless halt she made to her own life in order to provide the constant companionship that he enjoyed for the past few years.
A Memorial Mass will be held in honor of Medric on Saturday, February 24th, 2024 at Holy Name of Mary Church located at 400 Verret St. in Algiers Point with visitation at 10:30 am and Mass at 11:00 am. A celebration of his life will follow at the nearby Old Point Bar.
