Marie "Ria" Freebody Badeaux

Marie “Ria” Freebody Badeaux passed away at the age of 60. Marie spread her wings and flew to Heaven on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from her home in Marrero, Louisiana, with her loving husband by her side. Marie is survived by her beloved husband Dwayne Badeaux, her mother-in-law Bertha Badeaux, her brother-in-law David Badeaux, and her niece Brianna Melanson. Ria is also survived by her brother Reginald Freebody (Beverly), and nephew Colin, her brother Dale Freebody and his wife, Ria’s best friend, Roberta, and nephews Richard and David, niece Miranda, and great-nieces Samantha and Madison. Marie was born on October 31, 1956 in Hammersmith, England and she was raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She was preceded in death by her father James Freebody and her mother Eileen Freebody. Marie and Dwayne loved each other deeply; they enjoyed travelling together and visited 22 states and 2 different countries. Marie also enjoyed Facebook and cherished her Facebook friends. Ria will be forever in our hearts. Marie was passionate about helping children; children suffering from abuse and those suffering from cancer were especially close to her heart. Marie’s wishes were to have no services, in the hope that loved ones would make donations in her memory to either Prevent Child Abuse America or CURE Childhood Cancer, instead of sending flowers.
