Loy Wright

Loy W. Wright passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025 at home. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 17 years and close family members, Ken and Mary Rowland. Loy was born on August 24, 1935 to Lonnie and Eunice Wright of Longview, Texas. He moved to New Orleans during the 1960's after serving in the U.S. Army. He worked for American Optical before establishing his own optical business in Gentilly. It was in 1976 that he moved to Slidell where he resided until his passing.

Loy enjoyed many hobbies during his lifetime such as golfing, fishing, and flying single engine cessnas. He will be remembered for his generous nature and kind spirit. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Eunice Wright, brother Harold Wright, sister Betty Pope, and niece Monica Townsend. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Wright, children, David and Allen Wright, Kandi and Mark Bobo, grandchildren Charlie, Marlayna, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Though we will miss him dearly, we will keep his memory alive by cherishing the beautiful moments shared. Until we meet again, may his spirit live on in our hearts.
