A native New Orleanian, Louis was born on October 28, 1949 to the late Henry A. Darcourt, Sr. and the late Mildred Y. Darcourt. He was a very hard worker who enjoyed being around people and animals. Louis loved practical jokes and would always tease everyone. His down time consisted of watching Saints games, racing pigeons, fishing, hunting, bowling, going to the casino, and playing cards with family and friends. Louis was greatly loved by all who knew him and he will be sincerely missed by everyone around him.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Tulane Cancer Center and Slidell Regional Cancer Center for the love and care they showed to Louis during his 2-yearlong battle with cancer. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Canon Hospice for the dignity and compassion shown to Louis and his family during his final days.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private Celebration of Life will be held for the family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider offering Masses in Louis’ honor to either his local parish church, St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Slidell (https://saintmmchurch.org/) or to your preferred church, or consider offering donations in Louis’ honor to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org/).
