He is survived by his wife Patricia Swindler, his children Traci Landry, Brandy Swindler and Leon Swindler IV. He is also survived by his grand-children Tanner Landry, Ty Landry, Noah Messa, Leon Swindler V, Shelby Swindler and Logan Swindler. In addition he is survived by his brother David Swindler and his sister Carol Frichter.
He is preceded in death by his parents Leon E. Swindler Jr. and June Rose Prinz Swindler.
Leon grew up in St. Bernard Parish. He attended St. Claude Heights Elementary School and Chalmette High School. While living in St. Bernard Parish, he owned an auto body and mechanic shop and he enjoyed restoring classic cars. Prior to Hurricane Katrina, he worked at the Morial Convention Center. He truly loved his children. He was a proud grand-father. Leon was a loyal and true friend. He will be sadly missed by his wife, his family and his friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11:00 am at The Chapel of First Baptist Church of Covington, 16054 Murphy Road, Covington, LA 70433 with visitation beginning at 10:30 am.
Following the service, light refreshments will be served in The Garden Room.
