He is the survived by his sister, Sylvia Carnell Brock, and was preceded in death by his other siblings –Gaylia Carnell Kennon, Chester Boyd Carnell, Deloris Carnell Gregory, and Garry Carnell. Once in the New Orleans area, he worked at Witco Chemical and then for the State of Louisiana, where he retired. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and entertaining friends. Larry loved his dogs, Bella and Lola.
Larry was a loving and caring person to those who were blessed to know him. Everyone loved his slow southern drawl, which never faded with time. His favorite flowers were daffodils and yellow roses. He kept everyone supplied with citrus from his Meyers Lemons and lime trees. Although he kept to himself as he got older, he never forgot his family and friends and will be missed by all.
A special thanks to the entire team at Serenity Hospice Services and Love and Kindness Home Care Services. We can’t thank you enough for the love and care you provided to Larry at his time of need.
Larry was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He did not want a funeral service, but will be laid to rest at the Macedonia Cemetery in Myrtle, MS. Hopefully when you see daffodils or yellow roses, you will think of him.
