Karen Lynn Norfleet entered peacefully into eternal rest at her home in Laplace, LA on Sunday, February 25, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Karen was born in Chillicothe, OH on Christmas day in 1951. She started her family in Colorado and eventually transferred to Louisiana in 1982.
Karen was a self-proclaimed and well beloved amateur photographer and Domestic Goddess. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Karen faithfully cared for all of those around her and never gave it a second thought to put their needs before her own. Her signature gift of joy and the deep love she had for her family and Jesus Christ will never be forgotten. Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family and friends got her through her last days.
Karen will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 39 years and her best friend, Nick Norfleet.
She will forever be remembered by her three daughters, Kristina Carrera, Virginia Shull, and Mary Robben. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Dale, Abigail, Tristan, Emma, Autumn, Josephine, and Gabriel, three sisters, Debby, Valorie, and Jacque, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and close friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Elma Pettit, her sister, Sharon, and her two grandchildren, Coy Shull and Tjaden Carrera.
To honor Karen’s wishes, services will be private.
