Karen Ann Cooper (Kison) was born in 1936 to Ernest and Florence (LeMeiux) Kison. She had memories of living through the great depression. Karen had three older brothers, Ernie (Val), Jack (Gloria and Shirley), and Bud. She was a lifelong member of St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church. Karen was married to Garth Cooper, the love of her life. Garth treated her like a princess. She and Garth were season ticket holders to Muskegon Big Red football team. Karen worked in the cafeteria at Nims school and Mercy Hospital. She lived in Lakeside and Bluffton. Her Bluffton years, on the corner of Bluffton and Dune, were the happiest times in her life. She then moved to New Orleans, Louisiana to be closer to her daughter.
Karen leaves behind her daughter and lifelong friend, Barbara Ann (Gary) Cooper. Her favorite granddaughter Nicole Ann Morris, and her favorite grandson David Allen Coppock. Nicole and David had a very special bond with their grandma. Their shared love brought light to the world. Karen and Garth loved to watch David play hockey, especially with the Mona Shores hockey team. Karen also leaves behind three precious great granddaughters. Isabella Morris, Vera Coppock, and Hazel Coppock. Karen was a kind-hearted, loving, and generous person. There will be a private family service in Muskegon. Thank you to all who touched and brought joy to her life.
