Julie Ann Fitzwilliam passed away peacefully on September 28, 2023, at the age of 63 surrounded by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Ann Webb Fitzwilliam, and Augustin Joseph “Buddy” Fitzwilliam. She is survived by her two sisters, Kathleen Hebert (Eddie) and Jane Farve (Armand), her nephew, Austin Hebert, and niece, Rosalie Farve.
Julie loved her family, friends, and caregivers, singing Happy Birthday in the shower, baby dolls, balloons, ice cream and Cane’s chicken fingers. Julie was always ready to give strong hugs and sweet eyes as bright and blue as a sun-filled summer day. Headstrong, proud, and mischievous, Julie always lit up the room.
Julie was a resident of Magnolia Community Services in Jefferson, LA. Prior to Magnolia, Julie resided at Hammond State School, later known as Hammond Development Center and Evergreen Life Services in Hammond, LA.
The family wishes to heartfully thank the administration and staff of Magnolia to allow Julie to be herself and encourage her to live a life fulfilled. Special thanks to Ciera Starks and Nikki Poore’ who went above and beyond spending countless hours of their own time to make sure that Julie was cared for. Special thanks also to Dr. Jay Sevin, whose unending drive to do whatever it takes to ensure that the residents of Magnolia are happy and content. Special thanks also to Dr. Sara Fernandez for being the calm in the storm.
A funeral service will be held at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Avenue, Metairie, LA. on Saturday, November 4, 2023. With visitation from 11am – 12pm, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial and Interment at Garden of Memories.
