

Judy was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ann Neely Wright in 1989; father,
Aubrey Hershal Wright in 1984 and grandparents. She is survived by Rebecca
Wright Nicholson-sister; Douglas Nicholson-brother-in-law; Ann Michelle Smith
White and Rob White-niece and her husband, and their children; Rachel Kay Smith
Crowder-niece, Benjamin Michael Smith and Courtney Smith-nephew and his wife,
and their sons; several very dear maternal cousins; three wonderful Godchildren;
sisters in Christ and distant relatives.
She a[ended Bethany Church for many years where she served in a variety
of lay ministries such as home study groups, outreach groups and prayer teams
(since 1990). She was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 20, 1955. She grew up
in Bossier City, Louisiana and graduated from Airline High School in 1973. She
graduated from LSU Baton Rouge in 1979 with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture
and was a licensed Landscape Architect. She worked as a Landscape Architect and
Regional Planner in her earlier years after graduating from college.
She was retired from Louisiana state government, where she worked at DEQ,
DNR, DCFS, LSERS and most recently at LDI. She had diverse talents. Throughout
her career, her various positions included Senior Planner, Solar Energy and Energy
Conservation Program Manager; Departmental Legislative Coordinator, Planner,
Grants Coordinator and Webmaster; and Public Affairs/Communications Director –
a position she held over many years at three different state agencies.
She volunteered with the elderly, homeless, foster children, and those with
addictive and destructive behaviors over many years. She loved her friends and
family deeply, and her Savior Jesus, with whom she now resides in Glory.
