Joyce Lynne Cooper was embraced in Heaven on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in Jefferson, LA. Beloved daughter of Perri Leo Cooper and Edgar V. Cooper, Jr. Loving sister of Edgar V. “Butch” Cooper, III and the late Jacqueline C. Cooper. Aunt of Zoe Jewel Cooper. Godchild of Leonard Leo and Susan Eckert. Niece of Susan Philson, Jennifer Brown (Freddie), Patricia Bellas, Phyllis Hafferman, Linda Walden (Wally), and the late Stephen Ross, Sr. and William “Bill” Ross. Cousin of Travis and Lisa Philson; Crystal and Christine Eckert; Nick, Amanda, Laura, and Jeremy Labiche; Michael, Linda, Kenny, Chris, Warren, and Debbie Bellas; Jon and Joy Hafferman; David and Dawn Walden; Stephen Jr., Ryan, and Aaron Ross; Jonathan Chatwin; and Michael Ross. Predeceased by her grandparents, Jacques Leo, Joyce Leo, Gertrude Leo, Vonona Cooper, and Edgar V. Cooper, Sr. Joyce had a passion for dancing like no other. She became a member of the Dance Connection in 2015 and was proud to dance with them at several parades before she became too ill to continue. The women of the Dance Connection are a wonderful group of people who supported Joyce and her family through her illness, and who became like a second family to Joyce. Joyce never knew any strangers – everyone she met became family to her. A Memorial Service will be held at Celebration Church, 57030 Allen Rd., Slidell, LA on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 7:00 PM.
