Joseph “Marblehead” Allen Melton passed away peacefully at home at the age of 81 on March 7, 2017. Son of the late John Melton and Opal Willie Melton. Brother of Dorothy Melton Birchfield, the late John Melton Jr., and Betty Melton Willers. Husband of Eleanor Rae Bowers Melton and the late Agnes Smith. Father of Donna Cheramie Neumiller (George), Monique Melton Winslow (Steve), Michelle Melton Speakman (Nathan), and Mindy Melton Braniff (the late Troy). He is survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was a United States Navy Veteran and Eagle Scout.
