She was born on March 17th, 1938 in New Orleans, Louisiana where she grew up with her father, Mack J. Groves, mother, Lena Lala, and brother, Mack J. Goves.
Pat was passionate about her career as a beautician. In 1977, she and her husband, Paul O’Donnell, started a ceramic mask making company, Fancy Faces; her legacy continues to live on in the company to this day. Pat was a woman of deep faith and devoted to the Catholic religion. She was a passionate painter and reader.
As resident of St. Anthony Gardens, she took on the role of president of the residential community. She loved baking for fellow residents and adored spending time with her friends at St. Anthony Gardens.
She is survived by her son, Paul O’Donnell, daughter, Kathleen Hamel, son-in-law, Stephen Hamel, granddaughters, Katie Hamel and Melissa Sigmon, and great-grandchildren, Harper Lent, Grayson Gary, and Oliver Sigmon.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass at Saint Joseph Abbey at 75376 River Road, Saint Benedict, LA on Thursday, March 20th, 2025 at 2 PM. Visitation with the family will begin at 1 PM. Interment to follow at Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
