John Vindigni, Sr., 69, passed away on March 5th at his Metairie home. John was born December 21st, 1948, in Gary, Indiana. A soulful musician from birth, John’s voice rang in various legendary venues spanning the entire country, from “The Blue Room” in New Orleans, to Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas. His life carried a constant rhythm, and through his career he toured with Louisiana legends such as Benny Grunch and the Bunch, The Wiseguys, and many more. For 11 years he lived the melodic life of a “piano man,” performing for countless crowds at the Piano Bar in New Orleans’ own Pat O’Brien’s. John held a permanent and deep love for his family, animals, motorcycles, and the Oakland Raiders.
He was preceded in death by his father, Santo Vindigni. He is survived by the love of his life, Lenita Martinez; mother Katherine Vindigni; brother Sal Vindigni, children Jade Guidry, John Vindigni Jr., Kevin Maillet, Corey Martinez, and Stacie Heffker; grandchildren Emily, Michael, Julian, Sam, George, Cole, and Quinn; as well as many friends. His voice, life, and love echoed again with the birth of his most recent grandchild, John, this Spring.
Arrangements entrusted to the Neptune Society of New Orleans.
