John D. "Johnny" Murphy, Jr., passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2025 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of 46 years of Una O'Kane Murphy. Son of the late John D. Murphy and Stella Ott Murphy. Father of Shannon Murphy and John D. Murphy, III, (Karen). Grandfather of Ashlynn Murphy, Nathan Patterson and Clara Murphy. Brother of Erin Esteve (late Dennis) and the late Robin Murphy (Carolyn).
Johnny was a native of Gretna, Louisiana and a resident of Marrero, Louisiana. He graduated from De La Salle High School and Pearl River Junior College. He was an avid outdoorsman and jokester, who loved woodworking, reading, and storytelling.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd, Marrero, LA 70072 on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11:00 am with visitation at the church beginning at 10:30 am.
