Janet Rodrigue Motes

Janet Rodrigue Motes, age 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Janet worked in accounting for South Central Bell for 43 years, before retiring to focus on her family. Janet was always the caretaker, whether it be for her husband, her children, her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or friends. She loved to cook and would never let you leave her house hungry, and she especially looked forward to Holidays with her family. She spent her time volunteering at her children’s and grandchildren’s schools, and nurturing everyone around her. Janet was a truly kind and loving person, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Janet is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, William Alvin Motes, her loving children, Wendy Motes (Marc Fambro) and William David Motes (Carmen), her grandchildren, Patrick and Alyssa Motes, her siblings, Errol Rodrigue (Margie), Sheila Haydel (the late Alvin), and Charlene Hutchings (Alan), her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and Judy Boone, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Maebelle Guidry Rodrigue, and her siblings, Robley Rodrigue, Alwin “Noonie” Rodrigue (Mazelle), Betty Falgoust (Terry), and Edward Rodrigue (Deborah).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass in Janet’s honor at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 105 Bonnabel Blvd., Metairie, LA 70005 on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Noon. Visitation with the family will begin at 10AM.
