Janet "Jan" Helaine Walton Lambertson

Peacefully and surrounded by love, Janet “Jan” Helaine Walton Lambertson passed away on December 19, 2017, in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of seventy-six. Jan is survived by her four children, Robert Lambertson Jr. (wife, Patti), John Lambertson, Debra Lambertson Matrose (husband, Wayne), and Julie Lambertson Henderson. She was a loving grandmother to Scott, Deanna, Jennifer, Ralph, John Jr., Michael, Ryan, Reed, Brooklyn, and Emma, and great-grandmother to Gabriella, Nathanial, Bruce, Breanna, and Molly Mae. Jan is preceded in death by her dear friend and love, John Gramila. Jan was born on November 27, 1941, in Mineola, New York, to Delbert E. Walton and Michalina Krawiec, and blessed to be raised in the foster home of Kayo and Rose Peete. Jan lived a life of service to others. As a single mother of four, she filled her family home with steadfast love, caring, respect, and fun, traits that defined Jan and her descendants to this day and shall live on through her generations that follow. Throughout her life, Jan was happiest when serving delicious food to her loved ones and family, as well as the many patrons that visited the restaurants she worked at her entire adult life. In fact, until the age of seventy-five, the lucky guests of Speckled T’s in Slidell, Louisiana, who were fortunate to be served a meal from Jan, would also receive a healthy dose of the quick wit and sense of humor she was known for, characteristics that endeared her to all. In accordance with Jan’s wishes, at a date to be determined, and in a private ceremony, her cremains will be committed to the sea. The family would like to thank caregivers of Ochsner Hospital for their efforts and dedication during Jan’s final days.
