Hjalmar Briant Branting

Hjalmar Briant Branting passed away on Friday, May 26th 2017 peacefully, at his home in Metairie, Louisiana, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Gail Chauvin Branting for forty-seven beautiful years. H.B. was the father of Scott B. Branting (wife, Diane) of New Orleans, Louisiana and Kyle P. Branting (wife, Jamie) of Houston, Texas. He was grandfather of Logan, Luke, and Hadley Branting. The family would like to share their heartfelt appreciation for the love and kindness shown by Ms. Lucy, Ms. Irma, Ms. Liana, Ms. Vanessa, Ms. Josie, and Ms. Charlotte, as well as the care given by Lakeside Hospice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Southern Yacht Club, 105 N Roadway, New Orleans, LA 70124 on Saturday, June 24th, 2017 between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire; a contribution can be made to the Southern Sailing Foundation to benefit Junior Sailing.
