Henry Doell

Henry Doell passed away at the age of 94 on December 21, 2018 at home in Metairie, LA after a brief illness. He was born in New Orleans, LA on 8/10/1924 to Alma (Schneider) and John W. Doell. Henry is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Elayne. Henry is also survived by two sons Hank Doell (Jackie) of Madisonville, LA and Richard Doell (Toni) of Destrehan, LA. Henry was preceded in his death by his youngest son Kenneth J. Doell (Louise) of Destrehan, LA in 1998. He was also preceded in death by his brother John and sister Elizabeth. Henry is survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Henry was an active and dedicated member of Faith Lutheran Church since 1958. He proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church, 300 Colonial Club Drive, Harahan, LA. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church, immediately followed by the Memorial Service. Interment will take place at a future date, yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Faith Lutheran Memorial Fund in Henry’s memory.
