Helen Louise Orgeron

Helen Whitehead Orgeron passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at the age of 102.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Raphael Orgeron. She is the loving mother of Raphael Orgeron, Jr. (deceased); Carol LeJeune (John, deceased); David Orgeron (Sheree); Dianne Battaglia (Sal); and Michael Orgeron (Tania). She is survived by her grandchildren, Todd, Dana, RaeAnn, Natalie, Johnny, Denise, Sean, Benjamin, Sonny, Nick, Mike, Brandi, and Brooke, and 19 great-grandchildren.

She worked several years in the ER at West Jefferson Medical Center and also retired from Sears. She loved gardening, the Saints team and knew all the players. She enjoyed playing the slots at the casino and in her leisure she read.

She was very optimistic, her pat answer to "how are you" was always "I'm just fine, honey." She always put everyone first. Our hearts are heavy but she is in God's hands now and in her husband's loving arms. She always put everyone first and rarely complained about things except when the Saints lost.

The family wishes to express thanks to everyone at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was grateful for the kindness extended to her at Nouveau Marc. Special thanks to her second family at St. Margaret's Hospice for the care she received over the past two years.
