Gyula Szita

Gyula Szita, age 78, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at his home in Kenner, LA, surrounded by his loving family. Gyula is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Magda Szita, and they have both resided in Kenner for over 60 years. Gyula is also survived by his loving children, Magda Gassner and Gy Szita, and his brother, Ferenc Szita (wife, Katalin). He is also survived by many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Gyula is preceded in death by his parents, Ferenc Szita and Paula Szita.

Gyula loved people and loved to live life to its fullest. He never met a stranger, and when he did they were never a stranger for long. Friends and family were the most important part of Gyula’s life, and many knew him as “Mr. Happy” because of his happy demeanor with everyone he met. Gyula worked as an offset printer for WWLTV for 45 years before retiring, and he enjoyed spending his time playing tennis and earning his black belt in Judo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy., Kenner, LA 70065, on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 1:00 PM. Visitation with the family will begin at Noon.
