Gertrude Hurt

Gertrude “Gertie” Hurt passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, LA. Former wife of Gary Leroy Krutz for eighteen years. Loving mother of Teresa Jane Krutz Poche and Julie Marie Krutz Bilich (husband, William). Grandmother of Tiffany Nicole Thoms, Eden Lynn Poche, and Sean Phillip McCullough. Great-grandmother of Hope, Jaidynn, and Makynlee. Daughter of the late Walter Hurt and Mattie Abshire Hurt. Sister of Roger Hurt and the late Alma Hurt, James Hurt, Ben Hurt, Ferlene Hurt, and Wade Hurt. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends. Gertie had a big heart and a love for animals, especially her three beloved babies, Bree, Lucky, and Princess. She kept the memories of Bree and Lucky close even after they passed, and Princess lives on to remember Gertie’s love and affection. Gertie had a thirst for life and enjoyed every bit of it. From shopping to dining out and going to movies with friends, Gertie took every opportunity she could to spend time with those she held dear. A wonderful mother and dear friend to many, Gertie wouldn’t hesitate to share her love of cooking with her friends and family, and she will be missed by all that knew her. Services will be private.
