George J Philippi

George Jean Philippi, of Metairie, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 at the age of 81. He was born in New Orleans to the late Richard and Stella Philippi. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Philippi, Jr., his granddaughter Jamie Marie Culp, and his great grandson Kristian Michael Pineda.

Survived by his five children Beth Philippi Mollere (John), George Jean Philippi, Jr., Beverly Ann Philippi (David Vornbrock), Bruce Martin Philippi (Kristy), Allison Elizabeth Newfield (Vincent); his grandchildren Adam Paul Bertuglia (Holly), Megan Victoria Philippi, Renee Alexandra Vizina (Brandon), Brittany Marie Pineda (Carlos), Kristopher Michael Madere, Victoria Alexandria Newfield, Bryanna Grace Newfield, Adelaide Blythe Newfield, Eleanore Elizabeth Newfield and 10 great grandchildren. George is also survived by his sister Lucie McCleskey, and his brothers Charles and Louis Philippi.

Mr. Philippi was in the mortgage business for over 40 years, besides loving ice cream; he had many hobbies like sailing, basketball, “fixing” things, and eating out with his friends. He also liked helping people and learning new things. In lieu of sending flowers, please pay it forward by treating someone to an ice cream.
