Brian Collins, daughter-in-law Sandee Collins and granddaughter Courtney. He was a World War II veteran. While serving in the Army Air Corp he served as a flight instructor and was proud of never losing a cadet or equipment during training. After the war, he continued in the Corp commanding specially equipped B-29's on the first official weather flights over the North Pole before retiring as Major. In civilian life he worked as a commercial pilot for Louisiana Power and Light Company. He was an avid golfer who acquired six holes in one and numerous great friendships at Timberlane Country Club. George was a gracious and intelligent gentleman always young at heart and blessed with a debonair charm often exhibited as he drove around in his red XKE Jaguar. His influence will live on in the many individuals he inspired with his countless stories and amazing attitude toward life. Loved and missed by many, we say bon voyage for his final flight. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the World War II Museum in New Orleans Would be appropriate.
