Gail Kerr MacNary

Gail Kerr MacNary, age 88, passed away on July 16, 2016 at Our Lady of Wisdom in New Orleans, LA. She was the beloved wife of the late H. Douglas MacNary for fifty-nine years. She was the loving mother of Shelley MacNary of Metairie, LA, Nevin MacNary of Oak Ridge, TN, and Andrea MacNary Walker (husband, Danny) of Dayton, TN. She is survived by her sister, Sharen Schmidt, her sister-in-law, Karin Kerr, her nieces, Cara Schmidt, Traci Schmidt Taylor (husband, Justin), and Wenona Kerr, and her nephew, Nelson Kerr. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Alan Schmidt, and her brother, Robert N. Kerr. Gail MacNary was a loving wife and mother. As a registered nurse specializing in surgery, emergency room, and home health services, she always cared about the welfare of others. She loved playing the piano, being involved in golf, water activities, dancing, being active in the Catholic Church, and was always interested in traveling. Her enthusiasm for life will be missed. The family would like to thank the staff of Our Lady of Wisdom for their special care and concern for Gail and her family in their time of need, with special thanks to Kathy Roberson and Shannon Pearson for their compassion and devotion. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Our Lady of Wisdom Chapel, 5600 General De Gaulle, New Orleans, LA 70131 on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at a later date.
