Eldon "Ellie" David Wellman

Eldon “Ellie” David Wellman, age 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 17, 2017. A resident of Metairie for the last 12 years, Ellie was originally born in New Orleans and spent most of his life in the New Orleans area. Ellie loved to work and looked forward to going to work every day, and in his free time he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Ellie is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Theresa Russo Wellman, their daughter, Sandi Wellman Smallwood, their grandchildren, Shea Silcio, Christa Hellmers, Bethany Hellmers, and David Hellmers, their six great-grandchildren, and his brother, Henry C. Wellman, Jr. (wife, Barbara). Ellie was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Wellman Hellmers (husband, Danny), and his parents, Henry C. Wellman, Sr. and Carrie Freibert Wellman. Ellie is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends. To honor Ellie’s wishes, no services will be held.
