Eileen Ann Nelson Dupuy

November 10, 1947 – February 21, 2025
Obituary of Eileen Ann Nelson Dupuy
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and faithful servant of Jesus, Eileen Ann Nelson Dupuy, passed into the Kingdom of Heaven on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the age of 77.

Raised in the Carrollton neighborhood in New Orleans, Eileen graduated from Mater Dolorosa School, St. Mary's Dominican High School class of 1965, and Soule Business College. Throughout her life Eileen remained a devout Catholic both at Mater Dolorosa Church, where she married the love of her life, Harvey

Julius Dupuy in 1970 following his return from service with the US Army in Vietnam, and at her longtime church parish St. Catherine of Siena.

The heart of her life was her husband and children: Brett (Melanie), born in 1972; Scott, born in 1975; and Michelle, born in 1984; and grandson Henry, born in 2014. She was known for her humor, her kindness, her care for others, and her generosity. To one and all she provided a listening ear, a welcoming smile, and a gentle heart.

Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005 she and Michele worked to rebuild homes as a part of the Archdiocesan "Helping Hands" program and in the following years Eileen, along with several family members, participated in several Mexican and South American missionary trips.

The beloved daughter of Guy McNair Nelson Jr. and Melba Elliott Nelson, Eileen is survived by four siblings: Guy M Nelson III (Judy); Marilyn Salvaggio (Ray); Elliott Nelson, and Patricia Conn (Michael). She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter Michelle.

She will also be missed and never forgotten by a multitude of nephews, nieces, cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, and friends. A private interment will be held at a future date.
