Edna F. Mackey (Huffman)

Edna F. Mackey (Huffman) passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at her home in New Orleans, LA surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Charles V. Mackey for 28 years. Loving mother of Ronda Pedrazza, Lucky Miranda, Karla Muscara (husband, Tony), and Deborah Mackey. Grandmother of Douglas Skonieczki and the late Daniel Ferguson. Great-grandmother of Chloe Skonieczki. Daughter of the late Hamon Mathis and the late Gladys Hammond Mathis. Sister of Carl Casey and Wayne Casey. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends. Edna loved dancing, and especially enjoyed the Wipeout, the Jitterbug, and the Twist. When Conway Twitty was playing she couldn’t help but to take to the dancefloor, and her family listened to his music with her until the very end. Family was the most important thing to Edna, and when she wasn’t dancing at home she was dancing at family gatherings and picnics. Of course, to Edna, everyone was family; everybody that knew Edna called her “Mom” and there wasn’t a person she met that wasn’t welcomed into her home.
