Earl Joseph Savoie

Earl Joseph Savoie, 70, of Slidell, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018. He was born in Thibodaux, LA to Raymond Joseph and Elfie (Fay) Ledet Savoie on July 14, 1947, married Sylvia Berry Savoie on October 27, 1996 and was employed by Winn Dixie Corp. for over 45 years. In 2013 he became the King of the Krewe of Bilge. He was then elected “Captain” for the Krewe of Bilge the same year. Earl was also a member of the Krewe of Dionysus, Tammany Yacht Cub, and the social club, Poor Man’s Yacht Club. Earl is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Elfie (Fay) Savoie. He is survived by his wife Sylvia Savoie, his children Tammy Savoie Clement and her husband Nathan, Tracy Savoie Mims and her husband Shane, and Earl Savoie, Junior. He is also survived by his sisters Bernadette Labat, Nora Abel, Sara Hebert and her husband Gary, Laverne Deroche and her husband Wayne, Susie White and her husband JJ, Mary Bergeron and her husband Ervin and his brother Leo Savoie and his wife Debra. He also has 3 stepchildren, Earl LeSaicherre, Jr. and wife Leah, Keith LeSaicherre and wife Angie, Cherie LeSaicherre McDermott and husband Keith, 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 400 Westchester Pl, Slidell, LA, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father Paysse officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church “Shrine Account”, 400 Westchester Pl, Slidell, LA 70458. Earl was loved by everyone who ever knew him.
