Doris Wilson Little September 12, 1935 – October 17, 2016 Doris Wilson Little passed away at the age of 81 on Monday, October 17, 2016 peacefully at her home in Kenner, LA. She is survived by her devoted best friend, caregiver, and loving husband of 60 years, Kenneth Edwin Little. She was a loving mother to Melinda Little Doucet and husband Louis Jackson, Kenneth Edwin Little, Jr. and wife Christie Kern Little, and Tiffany Little Lockhart and husband Andrew Patrick Lockhart. Doris was known as Maw Maw Queen to her grandchildren Mindy Doucet Schayot, Spencer and Miller Doucet, Bradley, Brent, and Bailey Little, Patrick and Justin Lockhart, step-grandchild Chris Jackson and great grandchildren Jaxon, Scarlett, Layke Lockhart and Luke Little, step great grandchildren Camryn and Landon Jackson. Also survived by her sister, Carol Wilson Gaudet, and preceded in death by her parents, William and Doris Wilson. Doris was an avid sports enthusiast and shared her love of all sports with her lifelong friend, Ann Oggs Singletary. She loved the Big Apple, neon lights and New York City, and enjoyed collecting anything pertaining to the Statue of Liberty, and her collection was a reflection of her love of Americana and politics. She studied dance as a child and grew up to have her own dance studio for 10 years, Doris Wilson School of Dance. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Harahan Christian Church, 1535 Hickory Avenue in Harahan, LA on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 12:30 pm. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 am, and lunch will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations in the name of Doris W. Little to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriners Hospital for Children or Harahan Christian Church.
