Donald A. Jackson, age 82, born May 23, 1934 met face to face with the Lord on May 01, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emma Mennonet McNab Jackson and Joseph Ashley Jackson. He is survived by his loving wife, Esther Scioneaux Jackson, together for 38 wonderful years. One daughter, Soraya Hilda Picou (Tommy), one son, Donald E. Jackson (Annie) and three step daughters, Elizabeth Hensley (Jerry), Rhonda Bergeron (Ernie) and Susan Prestenbach (Gary). Eight grandchildren, Lindsay, Ricky, Mandy, Chris, Mindy, Mikey, Bobby and the late Jansen Jesse. Two great grandchildren, Jade and Liliana who were the apple of his eye. Seven siblings, Joan Ancker (Bob), Glenda Scioneaux (Fred), Carol Garmon (William) and the late Maxine Vines (Ruel), Merris Martinez (Emilio), Fannie Johanson (Bertil) and Berkely Jackson. As well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Donald was born in Roatan, Honduras and lived his adult life in the United States. Donald’s main passion as a general contractor was historical renovations, which led him in 1981 to rebuild the original David Crockett Fire Station on Lafayette Street in Gretna, La. He went on to open Second Chance Construction Salvage until he retired in June 2008. He was known as Bloody B in Gretna. He was a member of Theta Golden Agers and he will be missed by all who knew him. The family extends great appreciation to Canon Hospice. Cremation to be performed by Neptune Society. A private gathering will be held at a later date.
