

Dolores Farris of New Orleans and Jamaica West Indies passed away on 13 October at the age of 82. She was born on 11/29/1939 in Chicago, IL where they grew up with her 2 sisters on the Northwest Side of Chicago.
She graduated from Holy Family High School and Triton College with an Associates degree in Computer Programming. She worked as a computer programmer writing code for CNA Insurance before retiring in Jamaica.She were actively involved in St. Anthony of Padua Church, New Orleans, Mary Gate of Heaven Church, Negril Jamaica, Rotary Club of Negril, Member of Mercy Endeavors, Negril Food Pantry and more.
She is preceded in death by her Mother Sophie Farris and Father James “Bud” Farris. She is survived by her Daughter Cindy Perrino and her Husband Tony, Son Steve Walejeski, Grandson Christopher Perrino and his wife Rochelle, Great Granddaughters Sophia,Gianna, and Lilliana. And her Great Grandson Anthony, Sister Carol Pawlowski, Sister Margaret Pfeifer (Anthony), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and more friends than one can count.
Dolores was a devout Catholic and a true Christian who lived an extraordinary life. She served the less fortunate her entire life. She taught English to recent immigrants and volunteered to teach life skills to at risk youth in Jamaica. She was an avid traveler having been to Africa, many countries in Europe, South America, Alaska, Hawaii, the entire Caribbean, and most points in the USA. She received her Associates degree after the age of 40 and was a Certified Scuba Diver. Most of all Dolores enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly her Great Grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Friends and Family who visited and called her for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on Saturday October 22 at 11:30. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00. A Celebration of Dolores Life will follow directly after the service, at home. 4308 Banks St, New Orleans LA 70119.
