Dennis Joseph Ragas Jr.

Dennis Joseph Ragas, Jr. entered Heaven on June 15, 2017, while at home surrounded by family. He was born October 31, 1948 to the late Dennis, Sr. and Catherine R. Locascio Ragas. He worked for over 27 years at BellSouth after serving in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He subsequently worked for Tomba Communications until his death. Dennis was an active member of Harahan Christian Church and served in the music ministry playing guitar. He is survived by his wife Andrea Green Ragas, daughter Denise Jennifer Ragas Herzog (husband, Kevin Herzog), son Dennis, III (wife, Kasey L. Fine Ragas), precious granddaughters Rachel Paige Fordin and Kelsey Elise Ragas, and beloved grandson Dennis J. Ragas IV. Additionally, he leaves behind his much-loved twin sister, Catherine Ragas Dewenter (husband, Frank Dewenter), brother-in-law John David Green (wife, Laura L. Green), and sister-in-law Susan P. Green (husband, the late Robert T. Green III). He is also survived by 7 nieces, 5 nephews, 2 great-nieces, and 5 great-nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Carolyn Green Weaver (husband, S. Kirk Weaver). A Memorial Service will be held at Harahan Christian Church, 1535 Hickory Avenue, Harahan, LA, 70123, on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the church reception center.
