Deborah Anne Garbutt

Deborah was born on October 31, 1952, to the late Harold and Margie Pelas. She married Jerome Garbutt on January 19, 1974, and together they had one son. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gene Pelas. She is survived by her husband, Jerome Garbutt Sr.; her son, Jerome Garbutt Jr.; and her nephew, Glen Pelas.

Deborah was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on October 6, 1969, and remained faithful to Jehovah throughout her life. She was a dedicated and loving member of the Lafreniere Park Congregation, known for her generosity, kindness, and zeal for helping others.

A retired employee of Lusher Charter School, Deborah was also a talented artist, expressing herself through singing, painting, photography, sewing, and playing musical instruments. She lovingly crafted personalized gifts for friends and family, always giving of her time and talents.

Deborah enjoyed spending time with her family, especially cooking meals alongside her husband Jerome and sharing them with loved ones.

Deborah’s warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We take comfort in the hope of seeing her again in Paradise (John 5:28-29).

Services will be held at the the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on 3/1/2025 at 1PM, 9024 W Metairie Ave, Metairie, LA 70003.
