She was born on November 7th, 1993 in Sandpoint, Idaho and grew up in Montana and Maine. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Christine and Alexander Pozhitkov, her father, David Collopy, her sisters Megan & Daveigh Collopy, Hallie Collopy and her partner Anthony Wilson, sisters Helen and Fiona Pozhitkov, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceding Dashiell in death were her brother Jack Collopy, and her grandparents Jack and Louise Collopy, Carol Lee and Pat Warren.
Dashiell graduated from Delgado Community College and was working towards a degree in biology at the University of New Orleans and worked at the Country Club restaurant. She also volunteered at the Audubon Zoo. Dashiell loved animals, when she was small she only picked out animal books from the Dexter town Library. She also made her mark on Dexter by bringing Mr. Scary Guy, a full sized Halloween decoration, to her eighth grade prom as her date. We should have known then that she would always be her own unconventional beautiful person, as is clear to all who knew her. She had a beloved dog, Stumps, who had many adventures with her. She taught herself violin, and enjoyed karaoke, hula hooping, roller skating, traveling, camping, seeing new places and meeting new people. She was certified in scuba diving and loved the ocean, and any body of water.
She was blessed to have so many close friends in her life, especially Marilla Abrahamsen of New York, with whom she spent many summers and quarantined with during Covid. She truly brought joy and laughter to every room she entered and is loved and missed terribly by her family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, October 7th at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, and continue until Mass time. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
