Cody Hoss Myers

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, Cody moved with his family to the New Orleans area when his father’s career in the oil industry brought them to Louisiana. He attended Jesuit High School and later graduated from St. Paul’s School in Covington before earning his college degree from Southeastern Louisiana University. Cody went on to build a long and successful career in real estate, working as a Realtor for more than 40 years. Real estate was more than a profession for Cody—it was something he genuinely loved, and that passion remained with him throughout his life.

For the past 23 years, Cody shared his life with his beloved companion, Angela Guillot Discon. Together, Cody and Angela built a life filled with love, companionship, family, and travel. They especially loved traveling together, often to beach destinations, where many of their happiest memories were made.

Although Cody had no children of his own, he wholeheartedly embraced Angela’s family as his own. He shared a special bond with her children, Gerard Discon (Andra); Tara Thomas (Patrick); and Natalie Discon. To Angela’s grandchildren—John, Connor, Brady, Kathryn, Luke, and Myah—Cody was affectionately known as “Poppi.” It was a role he cherished, and they were every bit his family in all the ways that mattered.

Cody had a lifelong passion for golf, even if those closest to him might lovingly point out that while his enthusiasm for the game never diminished, his golf game somehow managed to do just that. He loved watching sports and making the occasional small wager, and a familiar sight was Cody peering out from behind his laptops, carefully studying his bets and following the games. He also had a special place in his heart for his English Springer Spaniels. There were several over the years, each deeply loved—and, in classic Cody fashion, each affectionately referred to as “Blue.”

Cody was preceded in death by his parents, Hewitt James Myers and Dorothy Sue Kelley Myers, and his brother, Rory Kelley Myers. He is survived by his brothers, Jett Taul Myers and Charles Buff Myers.

Cody leaves behind a life filled with the things and people he loved, but his greatest legacy may be found in a family that did not begin as his own but became unquestionably his. For more than two decades, he and Angela shared a life, a family, countless memories, and a love that will endure beyond his passing. He will be deeply missed by Angela, by the family who knew him simply and lovingly as Poppi, and by all those fortunate enough to have shared in his life.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the North American Martyrs at Jesuit High School, 310 South Solomon Street, New Orleans, followed by Mass at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to continue celebrating Cody’s life afterward at the Grande Hall by Ye Olde College Inn, 3036 S. Carrollton Avenue, New Orleans.

In gratitude for the gift of additional years Cody received following a liver transplant, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Ochsner Multi-Organ Transplant Institute.
