He graduated from Quinsigamond Community College in 1983 with an Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy. He worked as a respiratory therapist and clinical instructor of basic and advanced life support and served on numerous committees at the various hospitals he worked, including King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he lived for 19 years. He also worked at Ochsner, Touro, and Tulane Hospitals in New Orleans and worked on the front-lines during the COVID-19 pandemic, caring for patients in under-served areas of the States.
Elsewhere, his professional endeavors outside of the medical field included real estate management as part of his company CJSOLO International as well as long and short haul cargo transportation for I.V.L. International. When not on deliveries, you could find him on one of his Harley Davidson motorcycles out on the open road.
All of the people who were under Chaz's care, whether neonatal, geriatric, or cardio-thoracic surgery patients in the intensive care unit, were given his utmost care, kindness, and professionalism. He treated them less like patients and more like friends. Those lucky enough to be his friends were treated like family.
He is survived by his godson, Dr. Maxbetter Vizelberg, Heidi Vizelberg, David Dominguez and many close friends and colleagues.
We would like to thank the Tulane Medical Staff and Respiratory Department for the care and compassion shown to him in his final days.
Please consider making a donation in his memory to your local Humane Society.
