Carmen Mary Padua Sewell

Carmen Mary Padua Sewell, passed away on Friday July 15, 2016 at Carpenter’s House of St. Joseph’s Hospice in New Orleans, LA. She was born in New Orleans, LA to the late Fortunato Aton Padua and Margaret Peterson Padua on September. 13, 1927. She was married and divorced from Frank Wilmont Sewell. Carmen is survived by twin sons, Frank Roy Sewell and Wayne Berry Sewell, two grandsons, Frank Richard Sewell and Scott Roy Sewell, two granddaughters, Kady Norton Sewell and Emily Norton Sewell, four great grandchildren and two sisters Margaret Padua Mistretta and Mary Padua Alfano and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Gregory Rocky Sewell, daughter Catherine Mary Sewell, granddaughter Catherine Cara Sewell, brothers Fortunato Joseph Padua and Raymond Padua, and sister Patricia Padua. Carmen graduated from the first graduating class of Francis T. Nicholls High School in 1945. Over the years she worked at China Town Restaurant, did specialized sewing and sold Avon. Services will be private.
