Carl Mastio

He was born on April 26, 1934, in New Orleans, Louisiana where he grew up in New Orleans’s 9th ward. Carl graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School in 1952. He later moved to Metairie with his wife Joann where they lived and raised their family.

Carl worked as an accountant at the Federal Reserve Bank and receiving manager for Anheuser Busch. He was actively involved in square dancing in his younger years, gardening, photography, computers and spending time with family and friends. Family meant everything to Carl.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hazel Mastio, his sisters, Audrey Mastio Leidenger and Beverly Mastio Wellmeyer, and his wife, Joann Torres Mastio. He is survived by his children, Carl John Mastio (Beth) and Stewart Mastio (Lauren), and his beloved grandchildren, Maddie, Ellie and Mills. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Mastio, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and family friends.

The family would like to thank his son, Carl Mastio, for the care and compassion he showed his father as his primary caregiver for five years.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Grace Lutheran Church at 5800 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, on Sunday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:30 p.m.
