Brian Eugene Rhodes, age 52, passed away in his home in New Orleans on May 26, 2026. Brian was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on February 25, 1974. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Carol Rhodes, and his furry best friends, Flint and Chalky White. He is survived by his two brothers, Eric (Jeanne Lee) and nephews Jonathan and Benjamin; Keith (Keri) and nieces Lauren and Kathryn. Brian left behind numerous cousins that he loved dearly. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 1:00 PM in Mobile, Alabama with family and friends.
Brian cherished his family and had a strong connection to his mom and dad. He enjoyed unbreakable brotherly bonds with Eric and Keith based on love, loyalty, and a healthy dose of mischief. Brian was a proud uncle and envisioned great futures for his nieces and nephews. His cousins will miss him because of the emotional attachments he has made.
As he grew up in Tuscaloosa, Brian excelled in athletics and academics. After graduating from Central High School and The University of Alabama, Brian began a successful career in the financial industry at First NBC Bank, Whitney Bank, and Pan-American Life Insurance Group. He thrived professionally, but building genuine connections with people was his true genius.
When faced with “go big or go home” situations, Brian always chose to go big. He was undeterred by limits and loved a challenge. Fiercely independent, Brian set his mind on a goal and did not waver. He earned his MBA at Loyola University New Orleans and conquered an Ironman Triathlon in only 10 hours and 39 minutes. Brian channeled his boundless energy into travel adventures, making new friends, and relishing new experiences.
Brian had a natural curiosity about others that drew you in. It was a gravitational pull that turned strangers into friends and friends into family. He loved to gather together to celebrate achievements, milestones, Mardi Gras, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. His hospitable nature and innate warmth made everyone feel welcome in his home. Always performing acts of service, Brian was quick to identify a need and willingly fulfill it. Everyone who met him will remember his exuberance, accepting attitude, tenacity, and spirit of generosity.
