Brian Thomas Hoard Sr.

He was a lifelong native of New Orleans and a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy. Survived by his children Brian Hoard Jr. (Lisa), Shawn Hoard (Meghann), Bobbi Harrison (Matt), Torey Resweber (Kevin), Crystal Hoard, and Monica Armand (Derek). He also leaves behind a solid group of granddaughters, grandsons, and great grandchildren. Siblings Kathleen Wisner, Noreen Wright, Marleen Cefolia, Michael Hoard, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Mae Needham Hoard and Russell Hoard and brother Robert Hoard.

Our dad never took life too seriously and there was never a missed opportunity to turn anything and everything into a lame dad joke…I think we’ll miss that the most.There will be no services as per his wishes, but we’d like anyone wanting to celebrate his life in a small way to indulge in a nice dinner and maybe a glass of wine…he would have loved that!

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Fisher House of Southern Louisiana on behalf of the Hoard family. They provided his children (and many other families of veterans) with a nice place to stay through the duration of his hospital stay so that they could be with him, making a difficult time a little less stressful.
